A rail-guided sled crash facility is available for conducting dynamic impact tests. The test sled is decelerated using a stepped bending plate brake system. This allows for the simulation of crash conditions as experienced in real vehicles, or the reproduction of deceleration profiles defined in testing regulations or specified by clients.
The behavior of vehicle components such as seating systems, add-on parts (roof racks, awnings, etc.), vehicle interior/exterior modifications (ambulances, motorhomes, etc.), and safety-relevant interior equipment (airbags, seatbelt systems, dashboards, etc.) can be evaluated.
For experimental analysis of the deformation behavior of vehicle front-end structures (e.g. crash boxes for formula vehicles), a load sled and various impact plates are available.
Component and type approval tests are conducted in cooperation with various recognized technical services.
